Mainstream poor strategy

I just heard an excellent piece of bullshit. Catherine Nivez, from Europe 1 (second largest french radio network) : “We doing broadcast, bloggers doing ego-cast”.

I’m afraid of the poor level of thinking from this kind of media. There are threatened by millions of users publishing they own content, and they still think with clichés.

I don’t consider myself as an egocentric. Just somebody self-publishing stuff that interests him and that he doesn’t find in mainstream media.

Mainstream media follow the train they missed, doing the job they know with a new format, instead of re-invent themselves.

This blogging vs. mainstream media discussion has gone too far. Blogging has a place in global communications, and mainstream media as well. In the end, it's only a matter of brand equity. Bloggers who think they compete with mainstream media are being extremely naive, and mainstream media who keep on downplaying blogs as irrelevant are beeing extremely foolish.
